Wednesday Workshop: The Art of Collage (In-Person)

Wednesday, September 23, 2026
6:30PM - 9:30PM
$80.00

Instructor: Laura German Reynolds

Collage is an expressive medium where students bring a personal element to their art by incorporating their own photos, papers, and drawings. This workshop welcomes students of all experience levels who are looking to stir up their artistic vocabulary, expand their art making techniques, and discover their own unique artistic voice.

In this fun and supportive workshop, students learn collage strategies using the basic elements of art: color, value, composition, as well as how these elements are integrated to create a visual experience. Students create artworks by layering 2-D materials such as clippings from magazines, fabric, old books, paper, paint, photographs, and other ephemera to create compelling visual compositions. Demos cover tearing, cutting, gluing techniques, drawing, painting and the methods for combining and layering various 2-D materials.

Come explore how to combine paper ephemera by turning them into creative personal expressions, reimagining the bits & pieces of your saved paper ephemera while inviting the unknown and responding to what shows up.

Supplies and Materials are Provided, but feel free to bring photos, magazines, or any 2-D materials to personalize your work.
