Wednesday Workshop: Painting a Diebenkorn Ocean Extraction (In-person)

Wednesday, May 27
6:30PM - 9:30PM
$80.00

Instructor: Gary Paller

Join expert artist, Gary Paller, for this special one-night only opportunity to learn to paint in the style of Richard Diebenkorn, American abstract painter who created the Ocean Park series. This series of paintings, named after his Santa Monica studio’s location, are large, luminous geometric abstractions inspired by the colors and architecture of Southern California. This workshop focuses on the artist’s layered, structured, and geometric Ocean Park style that incorporated his palette of seaside inspired colors. Students create geometric compositions, while exploring the relationship between color and structure, and arrive with their personal interpretation of Diebenkorn’s world.

Materials and supplies will be provided.

Location: This is an in-person class taking place at the new BAC campus located in Santa Monica at
