Free Workshop: Making Mail Art - Creating Handmade Postcards (In-Person)

1 Wednesday
6:30PM - 8:30PM
FREE

Instructor: Jason Czerwinski

Mail art, also known as postal or correspondence art, is an artistic movement focused on sending small-scale works through the postal service. Mail Art is a way of sharing your art outside of traditional gallery and museum systems. Creators share their works by physically sending their art to each other instead of hanging it for display or sale. It doesn’t become art until you send it!

In honor of National Letter Writing Day on December 7, join BAC’s Jason for this free workshop where you’ll explore the history of Mail Art, the materials you can use, how to format works for delivery, and even prompts to get you started! Also covers mixed-media artmaking techniques including use of collage, paint, pencil, and photocopying to create unique works of postal art. Mail Art is the perfect exercise to easily satisfy your creative needs, and you’ll be joining one of the largest and most welcoming creative communities in the world!
