Illustrating The Tree (Online)

6 Wednesdays (No Meeting 4/1)
2:30PM - 5:00PM
$400.00

Instructor: Maddie Edgar

Botanical and scientific illustration's long history dates back to a time before photography - as humans sought to document and categorize what a plant, insect, or animal looked like for someone in a different location. Today, even though it may be easier to take a photo, botanical and scientific illustrators create images that reveal delicate details that photographs cannot.

In this course, students learn to draw trees. Working in colored pencils, students focus on techniques such as color blending, scumbling, and shape blocking. Also covers use of color, value, saturation, contrast, positive/negative space, and composition. Students should be familiar with drawing and colored pencils.
