Process, Not Perfection (In-Person)

4 Saturdays
1:00PM - 4:00PM
$320.00

Instructor: Jackie Glosman

This four-week mini-course focuses on freedom of self-exploration, experimentation in material use, and letting go of perfectionism. Art-therapy principles are utilized, such as focusing more on the process of art-making than the expectation around the artistic outcome. Process-focused art helps students tap into their creative-selves, cultivates self-compassion, provides a sense of catharsis, and generates a feeling of freedom in simply being themselves in the present moment.

Students are encouraged to let go of perfection and expectations related to what their art looks like, through focusing more on the process of creating art, engaging in self-expression, and connecting to play. This course consists of a series of exercises that includes bilateral drawings, drawing images from guided visualizations, string art, and collage practices.
