This four-week mini-course focuses on engaging in simple collage practices that any student, experienced or not, can freely and joyfully partake in. Each week students are led through a different collage technique or step-by-step practice, without too much preoccupation with skill, giving plenty of room to learn, be experimental, and be expressive. This class is intended for students who are wanting to engage in art practices, but may be too fearful due to perfectionism or worry about skill-level.
Art-therapy principles are utilized, such as focusing more on the process of art-making rather than the expectation around the artistic outcome, although you may surprise yourself with what you create!
Location: This is an in-person class taking place at the new BAC campus located in Santa Monica at
1625 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA. LINK TO MAP.
Transportation and Parking: Centrally located for easy access from all over Los Angeles County, BAC is only a 5-minute walk from the E Line (Expo) Metro Rail station exit off of 17th/SMC. The Center has a small parking lot located right in front of the buildings entrance. If parking is unavailable in the lot there is 2, 3 and 9-hour metered street parking in the area.
