Wednesday Workshop: Learning from the Impressionists

Wednesday, July 9
6:30PM - 9:30PM
$80.00

Instructor: Boris Tyomkin

In this one-night workshop, students explore Impressionism, including how the movement began, its use of subject matter, and painting techniques. Using three famous landscapes by Monet or Sisley as inspiration, students study Impressionist painting techniques by copying a work of art. The Impressionists painted directly outdoors and had to paint quickly. — this three-hour workshop is the perfect amount of time to get a taste of how the Impressionists used space, composition, color, and light.

Materials: Acrylic paint, brushes, and canvas provided. If students prefer to use oil paint, please bring a variety of paint and brushes.
