Printmaking: Printing Posters (In-person)

6 Thursdays
9:30AM - 12:30PM
$480.00

Instructor: Karl Jean-Guerly

Bring posters to life through the expressive media of printmaking! In this course, students learn how to design, carve, and print their own custom posters using relief printing. Students learn how to turn their ideas into simplified, high-contrast images that are perfect for posters.

Carving into wood blocks and/or linoleum, students develop rustic, yet sophisticated images using texture, value, and form to produce bold, graphic images. Additionally, students learn the proper use of carving tools, brayers, ink, and explore transfer and ink designs, producing an “edition” of their poster by making multiple sets of prints.
