Jennifer Caloyeras

Jennifer is an artist and author who has been teaching for the past twenty-eight years, including for the past ten years at UCLA Extension. She is an enthusiastic printmaker, bookbinder and mixed media artist and has exhibited her art in various galleries and literary magazines. Last summer, she was selected by the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, CA to create fifty works of mixed media art in fifty days for display as a collection in their gallery. 

She is the author of two novels including STRAYS and a collection of short fiction, UNRULY CREATURES. She served as the writer-in-residence at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica. 

She runs the book recommendation podcast and online literary community Books Are My People. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two sons. She grew up taking art classes at the Brentwood Art Center and she’s delighted to be joining the community as an instructor.
