David McDonald

David McDonald is an accomplished artist and has had over twenty solo exhibitions in the United States and been reviewed in major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, and the LA Times. He is also a 2013 Guggenheim Fellow and a 2005 Pollock Krasner Fellow.

David has had a long career as an art teacher and has been a professor at USC, UCLA Extension, and Cal State Long Beach, as well as teaching at Crossroads School and New Roads School. In addition, he has conducted classes at the Veterans Administration where he worked with formerly homeless vets with addiction and PTSD issues. He was also a volunteer in the Pediatrics ward of Santa Monica Hospital for five years where he made art with the children.

He is a meditator with over 18 years of experience and is a Senior Dharma Teacher in the Kwan Um School of Zen and is the Abbott of Dharma Zen Center, a residential practice center in Los Angeles.
