Edward Buttwinick, 1938 - 2025, Co-Founder of BAC
Our founders, Ed and Linda Buttwinick.
Dear Brentwood Art Center Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of BAC’s founder, Edward Buttwinick, on October 9, 2025. Ed, along with his wife, Linda, founded Brentwood Art Center (BAC) in 1971. The BAC quickly became a westside landmark, known for its outstanding visual arts courses and welcoming creative community. Ed lived a life full of creativity, joy, and kindness. His impact on the arts and arts education cannot be overstated and will never be forgotten.
“Ed's family and friends were the center of his world, and his life was radiant because of them. May his memory be a blessing and continue to inspire you to live with passion, generosity, joy, humor, and creativity.”
~Karen Buttwinick
