Wednesday Workshop: Painting in the Style of Frida Kahlo

Wednesday, October 15, 2025
6:30PM - 9:30PM
$80.00

Instructor: Julianna Ostrovsky

Join expert artist, Julianna Ostrovsky, for this special one-night only opportunity to learn to paint in the style of Frida Kahlo, one of Mexico’s greatest and iconic painters. This workshop focuses on the artist’s uniquely symbolic style that incorporated her personal story and identity, her heritage, and her political views. Using a vibrant palette of rich, bright colors, students create an intimate painting using Frida’s style of magical realism, blending reality with personal symbolism. Students also explore their own relationship between color, identity, and cultural folklore, and arrive with their personal interpretation of Kahlo’s world.

Students should bring an image of themselves or a loved one, or an image of a beloved pet or animal, or 3 of their own personal objects (or photos of the objects) with them to class to use as reference material. All other materials included.
