Illustration is the process of transforming an idea or concept into a visual image. In this class students learn how to use the elements of art and the principals design to create evocative images inspired by the written word including poems, stories, or lyrics.
Students will learn the fundamentals of illustration by creating finished drawings that clearly and creativity illustrate a short story arc; showing a beginning, middle, and end. The focus of the class will be on building drawing skills and visual storytelling techniques, while communicating a concept through images. No previous experience necessary.
