Believe it or not – “Researchers estimate that most humans can see around one million different colors. This is because a healthy human eye has three types of cone cells, each of which can register about 100 different color shades, amounting to around a million combinations.” (Pantone) This one-day workshop is designed for beginners through intermediate level artists interested in gaining a greater understanding of color by learning simple color mixing techniques and the key elements that go into making a great painting or artwork. This one-day course covers how to mix almost any hue and use color to create a balanced composition. There will be different exercises to choose from, or students may want to create their own artwork, or re-work an existing painting. Demonstrations will be done in acrylics. However, if students prefer they may bring pastels, colored pencils, or any other water-based medium.

Transportation and Parking: Centrally located for easy access from all over Los Angeles County, BAC is only a 5-minute walk from the E Line (Expo) Metro Rail station exit off of 17th/SMC. The Center has a small parking lot located right in front of the buildings entrance. If parking is unavailable in the lot there is 2, 3 and 9-hour metered street parking in the area.
