EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In May 2021, Amy Gantman joined the Brentwood Art Center as executive director, having spent more than 30 years as an arts administrator and educator in Los Angeles. Amy has dedicated her career to developing and promoting innovative arts programs throughout the southern California region. As an art professional, Amy served as dean of Otis College Extension for over 20 years, in addition to her work as an arts administrator for UCLA Extension, Visual Arts, and as program specialist for art and design at Learning Tree University.

Trained as an artist, Amy attended California State University, Northridge (CSUN), where she received BA and MA degrees in Art, with an emphasis in painting. Her teaching experience encompasses drawing, painting, color theory, and two-dimensional design at institutions including CSUN, UCLA Extension, and LTU. Additionally, while at Otis College, Amy led creativity workshops in Japan as a collaboration between Otis and Jikei Com colleges.

Amy knows the history of the BAC well, as she grew up in Brentwood. As she watched the Center develop into the creative community it is today, she noted, “Having the personal and professional experience of living and working here in L.A., I have been keenly aware of BAC’s stellar reputation – its dedication to students, faculty, and the creative experience is unparalleled. I am honored to join this vibrant and creative community.”

Amy resides in Woodland Hills with her artist husband. Her two adult children are also artists.
